Barnet Council proposes to stop locking Barnet parks overnight.
Barnet Council is proposing to stop locking Barnet parks gates overnight. There is a 38 Degrees online petition objecting to this proposal. The meeting to decide on this policy was held 14 March at the Environment Committee hearing at Hendon Town Hall
New planning application submitted for the Finchley Police Station site – submit comments by 7 May 2019
Finchley Market no longer
As of early August 2018, the Finchley Market was no longer. It had a great start and was enjoyed for the quality of the produce, but sadly did not stay around for long.

The appeal is allowed and planning permission is granted for demolition of existing building and construction of a 2-storey block of 6№ flats including accommodation in roof space, 6№ parking spaces, cycle storage, refuse storage, associated site works and landscaping at The Lodge, Long Lane, Finchley, London N3 2PY in accordance with the terms of the application, Ref 17/4102/FUL, dated 27 June 2017.

Former Finchley Police Station: planning proposal appeal dismissed on 26 July, 2018
A new planning application for the Police Station site was submitted to Barnet Council.
